María Inés Simon

María Inés Simon is a Brazilian Portuguese literary and technical-scientific translator graduated from Instituto Superior Lenguas Vivas (Misiones, Argentina) and holds a degree in journalism from Universidad Nacional del Centro – Unicen (Buenos Aires, Argentina). She is an active member of the Argentinian Association of Translators and Interpreters (AATI), working as a freelancer translator and reviser. Since 2021, she has been collaborating with Lecttura Traduções and is currently also lecturing on literary translation at Instituto Superior Lenguas Vivas, in Misiones, Argentina. Between 2004 and 2019, she lived in Santa Catarina (Brazil) where she worked as a teacher of Spanish and Portuguese for foreigners. Nowadays, she lives between Brazil and Argentina. In 2021, she participated in a creative writing workshop by Brazilian author Raimundo Carrero. She is the author of “Além das Fronteiras”, distinguished in the C2 category for the 2021 World Portuguese Language Day literary contest, organized by the Camões Institute in Portugal, in cooperation with publishing house Porto Editora.
